pulsion is due to intraluminal pressure
traction is due to adjacent tissue inflammation and fibrosis



pulsion is pseudo diverticulum  ( mucosa layer only )
traction is true diverticulum       ( whole layers )


Zenker's is the most common diverticulum of the esophagus
